Sturgeon Public Schools is piloting new communication software to send communication to staff and families including important announcements, newsletters and report cards.
After researching the solutions available, the Division has elected to implement a proof of concept project of SchoolMessenger.
SchoolMessenger is the communication application recommended by PowerSchool and HourZero, our Division emergency program, and is already in use by several other School Divisions across the province.
Over the next couple of weeks you may notice differences in our communication. During the pilot stage, we will send out both email communication and phone messages to ensure the entire student population receives the important information. As we move through the pilot we may need to make adjustments and we thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
This is an example of how the emails may look for you.

Please watch your junk mail to ensure communication did not end up there in error. If so, you can select the message and report it as “Not Junk.” Each email domain is different and will have its own levels of spam security and methods of how to mark the messages from SchoolMessenger as safe.
Like all software programs there is always opportunity for improvement. We encourage your feedback! Please send us an email with any suggestions.
